The sun shining on my face and my feet were on wet wet grass as half the school headed towards the nice cool pools that were waiting for us to come in.

My heart was racing, as Jack was saying 1 length freestyle 10 year old girls.” I stood up off the stands and headed towards Mr K, when Mrs Sparrow asked me to get the flutter boards and take them to one of the stands. I was shaking like an earthquake, and was as scared as a cat being chased by a dog. Next the 10 year old girls lined up in there diving position then Mr K said “On your marks get set go” All the girls made a big splash like a wave crashing against the rocks. We were racing like there was no tomorrow.

As I was racing in 1 length freestyle, I kept saying to myself 1,2,3 breathe 1,2,3 breathe as I was constantly doing so I had the feeling that I was the last one to cross to be at the other side of the pool but I wasn’t I was actually the fifth one. Being so surprised at what happened I almost got told off for not getting out of the pool. By the way I came 5th in that race. Then I went back to my house stands were my house was.

I felt like a million bucks after that and really proud of the other kids that participated in it and won house points.

Mission Day

On Friday, St Paul's School had a mufti Mission Day.
Everyone was waiting patiently waited for the events to happen. My first event was going to be the haunted house but the line was too long to wait in, so I went into the Dark Vader's basement of goodies. You had to try and find the bits of papers with numbers on it and the number that you got on the paper was how many lollies you got. Paige and I went in there together and we searched all around for the bits of papers and I actually found one. Deena and Nikita were counting down 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2,1. They took the blind folds off us and we unravelled the bits of papers and the number was 3 and Paige's number was 2. We went around to Shavvanh to get our lollies reward. 

How To Make a Cardboard Print

You will need:
-thick cardboard
-thin cardboard
-scissors
-P.V.A. glue
-printing ink
-rollers
-paper

What To Do:
1.Cut out cardboard shapes to make a picture.
2.Glue onto template.
3. Let it dry.
4.Put paper over top.
5.Use roller to put paint on the template.
6.Put paper over top and press it with a clean roller.
7.Pull off.

Athletics Day

When I was 9 years old, our school had an Athletics Day. We all competed in lots of events, like High Jump, Long Jump,f Vortex, Shot Put, Discus and Sprints.
First, we ran to vortex. The grass was damp and the sticks that were measuring the throws were lined up in a line. Mrs Readman wrote our names down on a piece of paper. Before it was my turn, it was Jaimee’s turn. She threw it and it made a whispering noise when it was soaring through the air. My turn was over. It was Shakira’s turn. She did a big throw. Next, it was my turn again. I picked the vortex up nervously and threw it as hard as I could. It was my best score out of all three of them and, after that, the siren went and then it was time for the next event. I think I did well.

Next, after we did vortex, we did sprints. Mr Emms put us into groups of six and I was in the one of the first groups to race the 80 metre race. I thought that I was going to lose because I wasn’t a good runner. Mr Emms said, “Ready set GO!" then he pulled the trigger of the starter gun. Bang! Molly and I were running our hardest. I couldn’t catch up to her. She was as fast as lightning. We got to the top to race the 100 metre race. I saw Jasmine racing. I was cheering for her and she came in third place. 
"Mr Emms, what makes the starter gun make a big noise?” I asked, wondering what it was. 
He said that it was gunpowder that makes it. 
It was time for the next race. It was further than the last one but I just said to myself, “ It's only a race." 
The starter gun went. I ran my fastest. The long green grass was wetting my feet. There was the finish line and I came in second place. I was feeling a bit more confident about myself.

Finally, it was shot put. It was Daneka's turn. She looked like she wasn’t even trying. Next, it was my turn. I thought that it would be a bad throw but it was actually a good one. Our turns were over. The siren went. We didn’t have enough time to announce who came first, second or third. That was sad.


It was a fun day, but I was very tired when I got home from school that afternoon.

The Wizard of Oz

Tomorrow, we will be having our school production for 2012.
My character is being a Tin girl. That means I have to dance with the Tin boys. We dance side to side and then back and forward, then they twirl us around. 
I like being on stage and performing. 
At the start I was feeling nervous, but I had to go on the stage to dance and, when I got off, I felt proud.
